1968 Ford Mustang Fastback, LHD. Mica blue with champagne feature panels.
302 Windsor with Windsor Jnr heads, mild cam, high capacity sump.
650 D/P Holley, MSD dizzy / coil, extractors, billet pulleys.
3 Core radiator with custom fabricated fan shroud.
5 speed Richmond gearbox with Hurst “T” handle shifter (awesome).
Replaced mufflers, tidied up exhaust, fitted new tips.
Disc frt end, drum rear - on buying the car from Melbourne in 2011 had the entire running gear checked/tweaked by “Nicks” in Hammy Hill – brake system entirely overhauled including new master cylinder.
Replaced diff with new 8&3/4 borg warner, direct from USA, apprx 2012/13.
Fully road registered with DOTWA. Registered til 03/05/2019
18” Rims & 225-235 tyres, including matching spare.
Interior all black, good condition with replaced/new:
Hood lining, dash pad, steering wheel, instrument facia, carpet, door trims.
Also imported custom centre console from USA and made/trimmed/fitted custom internal console facia to this with boot to shifter to finish.
*I also bought the “retro-tac” mini-gauge specifically for fitment to the “blank” central (clock) gauge, which will be provided “new in box” with the car.
I have fitted the high-back seats for better back support, however I still have the originals & they are in good condition & will be provided with the car.
New wing mirrors, inc remote to drivers side.
New (entire assy) rear indicators replacing original reversing lights.
Previous (Melbourne 2011) owner also fitted the following prior to me:
New floor pans.
New windscreen rubbers frt & rear.
New door seals and felts.
New rear bumper bar and tail light surrounds.
New fuel tank.
THE CAR RUNS AND DRIVES WELL GENERALLY, IT TURNS HEADS AND ALWAYS RECEIVES COMPLIMENTS FOR JUST “LOOKING MEAN” HOWEVER:
ITS NOT A SHOW CAR, SO DONT EXPECT ONE – HERE ARE MY KNOWN FAULTS/GRIPES:
The clutch is playing up, suspect it needs to be stripped down & rebuilt.
There is a leak in the scuttle.
The paint is still solid but getting on, it will require a re-spray in the next 5-10 years.
The rear windscreen is scratched (vandalised by some asshole - will not buff out)
I own the car free & clear, would not be selling but for a bad run with ongoing medical bills… For same reason car has not been driven much in the last 12 months. Inspections by appointment, generally after work hours.
